GOOOOOAAAAAAL!!!!!

The Circus!

Picture Number One: Brady looking more excited than he looked all Day. The show was over. We were going home, and he finally perked up a bit.
Picture Number Two: Brady looking thrilled to be wearing the hat that came free with his $14.00 cotton candy. I mean, FREE...can you believe they just GAVE it to him!
Picture Number Three: Brady's reaction to two people getting shot out of a cannon simultaneously, flying 100 feet in the air, and landing on giant air pillows. He was obviously really impressed.
It wasn't until later that afternoon when I asked the boy if he wanted to call and tell Nonni and Poppy about the circus that he got really excited and started talking about the elephants, tigers, and clowns. What a crazy kid!

And some MORE Vacation!

Even though the temperature on the beach in Galveston was approaching the temperature on the surface of the sun...and even though the water didn't provide any relief because it was warmer than Brady's bath water...and even though we had to pack up and leave after setting up shop only 1 and a half hours previously, it was still worth it to spend some time at the beach as a family. Brady didn't seem to care about the weather at all, and he LOVED digging in the sand. Really, if it weren't for his wimpy mom (but I argue that pregnancy causes some of that), I think that he might have been content to play and bake in the sun until the sun went down!

MORE Vacation at the Railroad Museum

We took a trip to Galveston this past weekend, but before burning to a crisp on the beach, we decided to visit someplace that we knew Brady would not want to miss. The Railroad Museum consisted of 5 train tracks each holding about 3 trains. We walked through dining cars, sleeping cars, and control rooms. Brady, of course, just wanted to drive. It was worth every penny to do something that Brady enjoyed so much!

Ta Da!

OK, so what kind of psycho-mom takes a gazillion pictures of her kids hair cut, THEN post them all so that everyone can see them?! But, you have to give me a break...it's taken me 2 years and 3 months to FINALLY have the opportunity to take these pictures! And truthfully, it may be another 2 years before we get to do it again! So enjoy!
PS...Isn't he so handsome?!

Brady's First Professional Hair Cut

It all started with an aggravated, serious look at the lady spraying water onto his head. Then came the Mohawk, along with some much-needed advice about what, exactly, needs to be done with Brady's hair. Finally, the movie started and Brady was content to sit perfectly still with his serious face and watch TV. It wasn't until the "stylist" broke out the neck trimmer that he moved at all. It tickled his neck and we couldn't get him to stop scrunching up his shoulders. The middle picture is my best attempt at catching the face he made each time she tried to get to his neck, and the bottom picture is her attempt at diverting his attention while she took a shot at shaving him. When we finally got him in the car, he looked so handsome with his new do, BUT there happens to be an unshaven chunk of hair on his neck!

Summer Vacation Part 2: A Special Visit from the Fam

For Regan's 30TH BIRTHDAY, the whole family decided to come visit in Houston...the midpoint for everyone these days. Poor, poor Brady spent the better part of a week being spoiled with new toys and special snacks, playing anything he wanted to play with anyone whom he asked, and being asked "how high?" whenever he chose to say "JUMP!". By the time Monday rolled around and everyone had departed, I had a sad little boy who asked his Mom to build an airport out of blocks no fewer than 15 times. "Nonni, Poppy, Reggy, Ewic, Baize, Denny? Aiyport...Pessylvana". We're still talking about it.

Summer Adventures at Home and in the Car!

Let's face it. Brady's the kind of kid who doesn't need to be running all over town to have fun (actually, the amount that you THINK he will enjoy something is inversely proportional to the amount that he smiles during that activity, even if it turns out that he had a great time). Anyway, we have spent some parts of this summer so far just hanging out at our house, running in the sprinkler, and enjoying special snacks in new places. In the bottom picture, Brady was so excited to be eating the last few Reese's Pieces in the bag that he fell asleep. When we reached our destination, he sprang awake as if he'd never been asleep, shouted "HOME!", and continued munching. Funny kid!

Summer Fun: Let's Start at the Aquarium!

Aquariums aren't just for fish these days. We took Brady to the Houston Aquarium for an afternoon, and realized how much things have changed since we were kids (does it feel like I should throw a "Sonny" in there somewhere?). Yeah sure, we saw fish...but we also touched them, took a train ride, ate lunch in a glass room surrounded by sharks, went on a Ferris wheel and merry-go-round, and splashed in water fountains to the tune of a steel drum band. If it wasn't so poopin' hot we would go back every weekend!
