SNOW DAY!!!!

This day has been everything that a snow day is supposed to be: sledding, hot chocolate, snuggling, staying in your pajamas...The only thing that I feel sad about is that Jer is not here with us! Luckily, we are getting so much snow that there will still be plenty to play in on Sunday when he gets here...and many days thereafter. It's still snowing so hard that we can hardly see in front of us. Brady LOVED being outside and threw a fit when it was time to come in. He even helped out by shoveling some of the lawn. Carson was so bundled up that he literally couldn't move, but he still seemed to enjoy the outdoors.
Tomorrow, we are hoping that the snow firms up enough to make a snowman. This is so great! No offense Texas, but we are so happy to be in PA right now!
Oh, and I would like to send a shout-out to Walmart for the seven dollar puffy coat, and 10 dollar boots that I bought for Brady yesterday...not to mention the sleds!

Amarillo Christmas Pics and Such

I am a pretty terrible photographer, but I did end up with a few adorable pictures of "the cousins" in their Christmas attire. It was hard to choose which pictures to post!

Over the weekend, we also managed to visit Paladuro Canyon. Brady's uncles helped him to be quite the adventurer.

Oh, and I also have to give a shout-out to my sisters-in-law (and, of course, Lovely Lyvia!)...we had an awesome time at the New Moon movie! I wish we could all get together more often!

Trip Number 2: Amarillo, Here We Come!

This past weekend, we visited family in Amarillo, Texas. Amanda coined the phrase "Fakesgiving" to explain our premature celebration, but that phrase isn't really all-encompassing because, not only did we celebrate Thanksgiving with a full meal on Friday evening...We also celebrated Carson's birthday on Saturday afternoon, THEN dressed the kids up for a few Christmas pictures immediately after the birthday fun.
Carson got to see his cousin, Grayson for the first time in a while, and spent most of the weekend trying to ride him (not in a gross way, you perverts...in a cute, funny, baby way). And Brady spent the weekend shadowing his cousin, Lyvia...he thinks that everything she does is AWESOME (which it pretty much is).

Our Travels Begin!

Before we began our holiday traveling, we took a weekend trip to San Antonio, where my mom was attending an exciting social work conference. Luckily, we managed to pull her away from all of the lecturers for a few hours, and she was able to join us at the children's museum, and a few other sights around town.
I also threw a picture of Brady's school feast in there...how cute! Of course, stoic Brady didn't bother to sing or do the hand motions to the songs, but he was happy to snack on the Rice Krispie treats...which leads me to ask the question: Did the pilgrims make marshmallows, or the Native Americans?

Carson Turns ONE!!!

In true one-year-old fashion, Carson spent most of his first birthday being grumpy. Carson is rarely grumpy, and he was definitely not himself that day! He did, however, happily accept his gifts and opened them with the help of his big brother (the gifts then had to be pried out of Brady's hands so that Carson could have a turn playing with them). Several of Carson's birthday gifts were chosen by Brady, so they had a good time playing together. Brady also helped to make Carson's cake. By the time the cake rolled out, however, Carson was pretty much done or the day and could only muster enough energy to lick frosting from his lips! Don't worry, he's back to normal now, and points to the cake every time we are in the kitchen, hoping to get another taste.

Halloween: A Quick Review

I haven't had a ton of time this week, but due to an influx of deaths threats, I figured that I should let everyone see how cute the boys looked on Halloween. They were both pilots. Brady was an airline "nice pilot" and Carson an old-fashioned pilot. Carson got tired around the 3rd house, so my dad took him home. Brady was a trooper and only needed one "heart-to-heart" from me and Aunt Reggie to keep going. The kid actually thought you were supposed to go home just because his bag felt full! He's got a lot to learn still, but this year was a step in the right direction.

Nonni's Haunted Visit

OK, so the boys are way more likely to make you want to squeeze their cheeks than make you want to run away and sell your house, but I have a good chuckle every time we put Carson in his skeleton shirt or PJ's. He is the chubbiest "skeleton" I have ever seen! We had a great time with Nonni visiting, and cant' wait to get spoiled a little more around the holidays!

Carson is Walking!

While I was hoping that maybe he would hold off for a few months so that I wouldn't have to worry about too many bumped heads just yet, Carson has decided that he would rather walk than mess around on the floor any longer. He has also decided that he prefers to feed himself with his own spoon. I really don't know why he needs me anymore. Oh, yes I do. I am around to clean up the mess he leaves in his wake.

We are very proud of him...almost as proud as he is of himself!

A Dancin' Kind of Family

There has been undeniable proof throughout the past 3 years that Brady loves to dance. We have caught it on video, in pictures, and those of us who are truly lucky get to see his sick moves in live action. Well, hold on to your hats suckas because Carson has joined this family of dancers (Jeremy excluded of course...by choice). If you want to see the moves live, you need to come visit us!

Going to the Big Leagues

You may accuse me of having my eyes clouded by parenthood, but Carson definitely has early catching skills. Major Leagues, here he comes!

Making Amends with Frank

While I have acute amnesia for all memories of difficult times during Brady's childhood, Jeremy says that Brady and Carson are similar in many ways that I seem to have forgotten. For example, I am told that changing Brady's diapers was just as much of a wrestling match as it is with Carson now (really, Jer? I just don't remember that). But, I can't believe that Brady's "babyhood" passed by as quickly as Carson's is passing. Although, it must have, because how did Brady get to be a giant 3-year-old smarty-pants who calls me "Mom" and repeats funny things that he sees on T.V.? At any rate, Carson enjoys walking babies and pushing cars around even though he doesn't seem quite ready to walk on his own yet...thank goodness! Slow down, Carson! I need the memories to stick this time!

Oh, and if any of you are confused about the title of this post, Frank is Brady's Cabbage Patch Doll who Carson was terrified of for a while.

Proof

I just thought I'd share proof of why the boys get away with everything in this house. How could I possibly say no to these two?!

Some "Catch-up" Shots

Just a little update on the boys: Brady started school a few weeks ago and LOVES it. He walks in like he could care less about what his mama is doing all day. He is bringing home the cutest artwork, and already learning new letters and numbers. Carson has gotten 2 new "chicklets" as seen in the top picture. He is using them to eat things that babies just really shouldn't eat. He is also planning on joining the circus with his mad skills in roll-balancing, as shown in the bottom 2 pictures...he is carefully balancing a dinner roll on his shoulder while going about his business nonchalantly. Quite impressive, really.
As always, we are very proud of our boys!

Don't Look Now, Just Bust a Move

So, I'm a total idiot and I truly can't figure out how to make this the right way, so tilt your head to the side and enjoy! Sorry!

Finally Finishing Vacation

With Brady starting school on Wednesday, I figured that I should get my act together and finally finish the wedding and vacation postings. I had quite a few more pictures that I wanted to upload, but this will have to do!

The top few pictures are of our trip to Napa where Amanda and her roommate, Lisa, gave us the the royal treatment, and the bottom pictures are of the lovely bride and groom and family.

I am working on posting some videos, then will try to find time to give a few updates on the boys!
