Le Vrai Garcon (The True Boy)

During a French lesson today, as Brady wreaked havoc, my French teacher called Brady a Vrai Garcon, or a true boy...and she couldn't be more right! What a nut! Brady has learned how to climb, so all day he pushed his little blue stool to the counter or the walls, climbed on top, and tried to grab whatever he could. When I caught him, he looked up and gave me a huge smile...even if I had a really angry look on my face and spoke unpleasantly. He also opens the bottom drawers in the kitchen, and uses them to stand in so he can reach what's in the higher drawers. Nothing is safe anymore! In addition, he thinks the word "no", even yelled, is the funniest word he has ever heard. What am I doing wrong?! Well, I have to admit that he is making every day interesting, exciting, and fun. I could just watch him all day, and marvel at the way his mind works. He makes me laugh constantly, and I couldn't love him more. I can't wait for everyone to see him when we come home!

I WANT YOGURT!!!

Ever since Brady turned 1, he has not been the great eater he started out to be. He is much more picky, and knows what he likes before he even tastes things. In addition, he has decided that he wants to feed himself, sometimes with a spoon... sometimes with his hands. In the end, I can ALWAYS count on him eating yogurt, and I can ALWAYS count on getting some good pictures of his efforts. I mean, who wouldn't want to kiss that face!!!

Afternoon Play Date

Today, Brady had a play date with two of his friends. They had a great time eating everything is sight, drinking out of any cup but their own, and taking toys away from each other. As you can see, his two friends, Elizabeth and Louisa, are both little girls! Brady is already popular with the ladies!

Pop-pop's Rocking Horse

Lately, one of Brady's favorite things to do is ride the rocking horse that my Pop-pop (his great grandfather) made for Regan when she was little. On this particular evening, he was so tired, he put his head on the horse's head and almost rocked himself to sleep. The only reason he looks sad in the picture is because I took his pacifier away (Brady's Nona will not allow pacifiers in any pictures)! He LOVES this horse...it just goes to show you that sometimes the simplest toys are the best!

The Buddies on Vacation!

Cai, Marlon, and Brady had a great time together in Les Ardennes!

By the time we came home, Brady really missed having his friends around. He was very confused when he woke up the day after we came home and his friend weren't there to play with him.

Our Long Weekend in Les Ardennes

This past weekend, we took a small vacation to the Province on Luxembourg (still in Belgium) where we staying at a huge house with several other families. It was a great vacation to take with Brady because he had his buddies, Cai and Marlon, there to play with him, and us adults had a chance to have a relaxed dinner after we put the boys to bed each night. We went for walks through the area where there were a lot of horses, cows, sheep, and other animals that Brady didn't seem to care about at all...oh well! He still had a great time. And, while we were there, he finally learned to stand up without holding on to anything! He's really becoming a big boy! We have our friend, Amanda, to thank for inviting us on this beautiful vacation ("holiday" to you Brits and Kiwis!), and we look forward sharing this special part of Belgium with future visitors.

Welcome to Our Blog!

Hello Everyone! Since we have become very lazy in sending "updates" through email, and since we don't want to force our updates on anyone, we decided to start a blog so that everyone could be kept up to date with Brady news and family events. We hope you enjoy it!
