Back to Basics

My lovely soon-to-be sister-in-law just sent me a great You Tube clip called "Everything's Amazing, Nobody's Happy", and while it was really funny, it got me thinking about how stressed-out I have been lately with my TWO KIDS! I mean honestly, I have 2 kids and they are my job! I looked through these pictures and am newly committed to constantly noticing how sweet my boys are, even when dressing Brady for bed is scarily similar to the darting and dodging of a paintball war...even when Carson's Spidey-senses tell him when I am carrying him with only 1 arm, and he feels the need to wail until the problem has been rectified. Look at those little faces!

Underpants!!!

Whether you are 29 or 2 (and three-quarters), that word never stops being funny when shouted at random intervals. And underpants have been a big topic in our potty-training household. I could just pinch that tiny little tooshie all day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Watch out for Cupid's arrow! It got me and I couldn't stop smooching him...is that how it's supposed to work?

Chubby Boy

Of course, Carson has to make a liar out of his momma by ceasing to smile, talk, and play as soon as the camera goes on. I will stop bragging about how pleasant he is until you can all see for yourselves in person. The one thing he has definitely mastered, though, is his pretend, attention-grabbing, Yenta-cough. At any rate, I hope this little video gives you a taste of what Carson looks like these days...until we meet again!

Ready for Our Close-Up

Brady and Owen were not to be outdone by two little babies. They know how to steal the show!

Severe Cuteness

Carson and his little buddy, Emma, are just starting to show off for each other. It's quite adorable. Video to come!

Tough Times, Overcome

I'm not gonna lie to ya...in the beginning, I shed a few tears thinking that my baby was miserable all of the time...well, not all of the time...only when he was awake. But as he has gotten older, Carson has become a really happy dude. He even goes with the flow when his older brother decides to use him as a prop during play time. Who needs dirt for your dump truck when you have a little brother?! Should I be putting a stop to this?
By the way, Brady is a VERY proud and helpful older brother.

Haute Couture

You may have heard of "Name dropping", i.e.: "I ran into my friend, Diana Ross, at an exclusive party last week", but, while I don't really have any names to drop (unless you can count Melvin, the guy who runs the carousel at the zoo), I can certainly drop places...known as "Place Dropping". Carson's outfit in the top picture is from our wonderful Canadian friend, Paula, who picked it up while she was in Germany. The middle picture shows Carson sporting a sweater and hat that I originally bought in Belgium for Paula's daughter, and she kindly returned to me so we could get more use out of it. And finally, in the bottom picture, Carson is squeezed into a little number from the French chain, Target (we all know the correct pronunciation)...but that's not all...the outfit was actually manufactured in Bangladesh. I mean, I'm trying not to brag, but my kid is just so worldly, and he hasn't even left U.S. soil yet.

The Houston Zoo

Not much more to say here...my kids are cute, that's about it. Wait! I had promised to stop bragging...it's harder than it seemed at first.
Aunt Boo had a great time at the zoo, as well...and later adopted an otter for the boys. Her name is Hope and we have her likeness (a stuffed animal) that Brady is "sharing with Carson".

Adventures in Zoology

So, I found a fancy way to say that we went to the zoo. What an awesome day. The animals actually looked happy and active, and we actually got to show Brady some animals without having to say things like: "Over there...look...behind the brush...you see it?...it just moved...no, right there...".

Ahhhh, To Be a Kid Again!

It has recently came to my attention that, while I thought only die-hard members of Brady and Carson's fan club (our family) view this blog (including those who are forced to view by said members of the fan club), other people actually check it out from time to time. Well, now I am just all nervous and feel like I better be interesting and post great pictures. I can't promise that I will do either of these, but at least my kids are cute and can carry the weight if I fall short! Wait...I guess I can't really brag about my kids ruthlessly if other people are reading. Geez this is a lot of pressure! By the way: yes, Carson has more hair in the top picture than he has now...No, he was not at all embarrassed that I took pictures of him in his birthday suit (can't be embarrassed when your birthday was, in fact, just a few short days before the picture was taken)....And Yes, Brady did fall asleep with a juice box in his mouth, leaving only the straw hanging out by the time we got home.
And the bottom picture is a shout-out to my Nona who spoiled the boys rotten while we were home. Holla!

Time with Friends

Over the holidays, Carson had some very exciting experiences, and obviously was very touched by them. First, he had the opportunity to meet the very intelligent and beautiful Emelyn...his possible/hopeful future girlfriend. Then, he visited Virginia for the first time where several members of Brady's fan club added Carson's name to the fan club letter-head. Aunt Emily spent time cuddling the little guy, while Aunt Elaine let Brady adhere stickers all over her face...and finally, Brady got some cuddle-time as well. Good times were had by all. And for those of you who are wondering, the official name of the fan club is now: Brady and Carson ARE the Party and I Want to be Invited. I know it's lengthy, but it got the most vote in last months meeting of executives.

recap

OK...so these are pretty much the same pictures as the last post I did. I'm going crazy and I can't even blame it on lack of sleep. I woke up before both boys today. Pray that their sleep patterns keep!
